What Treatment Looks Like
Everyone has different experiences with substance use and treatment attempts. Once a person is screened, different treatment options may be offered:
Outpatient Treatment
A person will undergo group and individual counseling a few times per week for a number of months. The frequency is adjusted depending on individualized goals and progress.
Intensive Outpatient Treatment
In this treatment, a person will go through group and individual counseling most days of the week. The goal is to help establish new recovery skills and eliminate substance use.
Residential Treatment
This involves short-term, intensive treatment at a live-in facility, followed by
outpatient treatment.
Narcotic Treatment Programs
A person receives daily medications for opioid use disorder, plus individual
counseling.
