Kern Behavioral Health & Recovery Service’s Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) is made up of behavioral health professionals that offer immediate access to behavioral health services, substance use services, and crisis support 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. These services are available to people of all ages, and in any language.

If you or someone you know is in crisis and needs immediate assistance, you can now call 988 or Kern’s dedicated MCR line at 661-868-8200. Call takers will assess the situation and when appropriate, send the Mobile Crisis Response team to assist. If the situation has safety concerns or medical needs, the MCR team will collaborate with law enforcement and/or emergency medical services.

The goal of Mobile Crisis Response is to:

  • Provide in person crisis interventions to reduce immediate risk of danger to self or others

  • Connect and link people to community to resources, referrals and treatment services

  • Provide transportation, if needed, to behavioral, substance use, and/or crisis services

  • Create safety plans

  • Provide 72-hour follow up to ensure ongoing support
